How many sizes does the Rebbe mat come in?
We currently have 3 options: 12x24, 18x32, and custom sizing.
The 12x24 size mat is where it all started from. the 12x24 mat is the size of the disposable makeup station mats and this will fit into almost all trailers.*
*yes, we said almost all trailers. There are so many different trailers out there that there is bound to be one that it does not fit. We have yet to come across one.
The 18x32 size mat is perfect if you are day playing and on the mobile wooden stations or if you are stationed on a large table.
Custom sizing is available if you have a particular size in mind. Pricing depends on size that is needed. Please contact us for ordering.
All Rebbe Mats are handmade in Los Angeles, CA. Sizing may not be perfectly exact because of this.
what’s the best way to clean my rebbe mat?
The Rebbe Mat is SUPER easy to disinfect! Use alcohol and a tissue to wipe down after a mess, easy as that! Or you can use a disinfectant wipe!
Make sure that if you drop glue on it, to get it right away. The longer it sits, the longer it sticks!
Why can i not put hot tools on my mat?
Our top layer is vinyl, so any hot tools (flat irons, curling irons, etc) can burn it. Not only is it not safe, but it will ruin the quality and look of the mat and get burnt plastic on your tool. No one wants that.
you also stated no acetone? i’m confused
This is mostly directed to my special FX makeup lads (or if you were planning on doing your nails over the mat). Acetone likes to eat through materials like vinyl and can affect the quality and look of your mat. Just make sure you have something between the cup and the mat to catch the falling liquid. Wipe it up as soon as you can!
Does that mean it’s bad for fx?
Not at all! We have so many clients who are awesome FX artists and use our mats at their station! It just means you may have to be a little more attentive if you happen to be a more messy artist.
how do i store my rebbe mat?
It is best to lay the mat flat even when not in use. But let’s be honest, storage, compactness and functionality are the most important. You can store The Rebbe Mat rolled up and tied with our attached ribbon. Try not to crush it. The next time you lay it out to work, it will flatten itself out. Depending on how long it was tied, it could take more time. If you need it to be flat quicker, a quick blast of hot air from a hair dyer will reduce the flatten time.
How many colors does the Rebbe mat come in?
At the moment? We have a rainbow of 19 options! We do plan on having special seasonal colors when available, remember to check back each season. Check out our shop for all the colors currently available!
What is the rebbe mat made of?
The top layer is made out of high end upholstery vinyl. ALL COLORS/options have been chosen with cleanliness in mind. All are non-porous, flat and non-textured so nothing (germs/bacteria) can be hidden in a textured surface of the fabric and be easily cleaned and disinfected. Our thread is made of invisible plastic thread so no bacteria can be harboring in it as well. Our bottoms are made of high end quality anti skid rubber.
How long will my rebbe mat last?
Our mats are made to be reused over and over and over again! It really depends on how well you take care of it. The creator of The Rebbe Mat still uses a prototype that she made in 2016 on set today! The more you care for it, the longer it will care for you!
